Large Vintage Gilt Metal Chandelier – Sheaf Design – Attributed to Hans Kögl – 6-Light

A striking large-scale vintage chandelier in the manner of German designer Hans Kögl, known for his naturalistic gilt metal lighting in the Hollywood Regency taste. Its frame bursts upward in a graceful sheaf of slender, blade-like leaves, punctuated with small stylized seed-pod flowers on delicate stems. Six scrolled arms extend outward, each finished with a classic faux-candle sleeve. This chandelier is unsigned and is attributed to Kögl based on its design.

A bold, botanical statement piece for a dining room, entryway, or large living space. Circa 1960s-70s.

Dimensions:
Diameter: 68 cm (26.8 in)
Total height: 70 cm (27.6 in)

Material: Gilt metal
Condition: Vintage condition; please note this piece shows notable oxidation throughout, visible in the photos. The original wiring is old but in working order.
Sockets: Fitted with 6 European E14 sockets. US buyers may wish to use E14-compatible bulbs sourced locally, or have sockets converted by an electrician if standard US E26/candelabra bulbs are preferred.
Wiring note: This fixture is hardwired (no plug) and installed by an electrician, just like any chandelier or sconce. The original European wiring works perfectly on US current — lower voltage means less strain, not more. Note: as with most vintage European lighting, it does not carry UL certification. Given the age of this wiring, some buyers choose to have it inspected or replaced by a licensed electrician for extra peace of mind.
