Vintage French Bronze Hall Lantern – Louis XV Rococo Style – 6-Sided – 3-Light – 3 Shades Included

A substantial vintage French lantern in the Louis XV taste, its heavy cast bronze frame ornamented with sweeping rocaille scrolls, a central shell cartridge, acanthus leaf corner mounts and acorn finials. The six-sided body encloses a cluster of three candle-style lights, each dressed with a plum-colored fabric shade finished with a decorative gold trim. All three shades are included with the lantern. A grand piece for an entrance hall, stairwell or dining room.

Circa 1950s-60s, in the rococo revival tradition.

Please note: this lantern is sold without glass. The open frame has no panes, so you can enjoy it as a sculptural open lantern or have glass panes cut to size by a local glazier.

Dimensions:
Diameter: approx. 28 cm (11 in)
Height (fixture only, no chain): approx. 55 cm (21.7 in)
Total height (with chain): approx. 90 cm (35.4 in)

Material: Cast bronze, fabric shades

Condition: Vintage condition with traces of oxidation to the bronze, consistent with age. Sold without glass. All three shades included. In good working order.
Sockets: Fitted with 3 European E14 sockets. US buyers may wish to use E14-compatible bulbs sourced locally, or have the sockets converted by an electrician if standard US E26/candelabra bulbs are preferred.
Wiring note: This fixture is hardwired (no plug) and installed by an electrician, just like any chandelier or lantern. The original European wiring works perfectly on US current — lower voltage means less strain, not more. Note: as with most vintage European lighting, it does not carry UL certification.
