Set of 4 Antique French Gilt Bronze Curtain Rod Brackets – Louis XVI Style – Laurel Wreath Design

A magnificent matching set of four antique French curtain rod brackets (drapery rod holders) in the Louis XVI taste, richly cast in gilt bronze. Each bracket is modeled with finely detailed crossed laurel wreaths, a draped garland, a scrolled crest topped with a leafy flame finial, and a base ending in an acanthus leaf and pinecone, with each bracket pierced for mounting. A ring at the top holds the rod. Four identical brackets are a rare find, and they would dress a pair of tall windows or a whole row of French doors with real château elegance. They also make wonderful decorative objects on a mantel, console or shelf.
