Set of 4 Vintage French Empire Style Gilt Brass Wall Sconces – Swan Motif – 3-Light Each – 1950s

A rare matching set of four vintage wall sconces in the Empire taste, finely cast in gilt brass and accented with a deep green patina. Each sconce is modeled with a swan with outstretched wings, the emblematic motif of Napoleonic design, rising from a green banded urn and crowned by an elegant palmette. Three sinuous scrolled arms extend from each sconce, ending in fluted tulip-form bobèches with classic faux-candle sleeves. Together, the four sconces give twelve lights, perfect for lighting a long hallway, a grand dining room, or a formal salon.

Circa 1950s, in the Empire revival tradition.

Sockets: Each sconce is fitted with 3 European E14 sockets (12 in total for the set of four). US buyers may wish to use E14-compatible bulbs sourced locally, or have the sockets converted by an electrician if standard US E26/candelabra bulbs are preferred.

Wiring note: These fixtures are hardwired (no plug) and installed by an electrician, just like any chandelier or sconce. The European wiring works perfectly on US current — lower voltage means less strain, not more. Note: as with most vintage European lighting, they do not carry UL certification.
