Antique Bronze Ornament with Two Cherub Heads (Putti) Among Clouds, c.1900

A lovely antique bronze relief ornament from the late 19th or early 20th century. Two cherub heads with curly hair float among swirling clouds, with crossed decorative elements at the center. The relief is finely modeled, with a warm, aged patina. It has three small holes for mounting.

Original use unknown: it may have come from church fittings (an altar, for example), from furniture, or from architecture. Cherub reliefs like this were used in all of these. It is a decorative piece, not a light, and can be mounted on a wall, a piece of furniture or a door, or displayed on a shelf.

Dimensions: 22 cm (8.7 in) wide x 18 cm (7.1 in) high. Weight: about 1 kg (2.2 lb).
Material: Bronze

Condition: Good antique condition. Natural oxidation is visible, including a few small greenish spots and surface wear, as shown in the photos. It is part of his age and character.

Carefully packed and shipped from France. Message with any questions!
